Geographical Section of the British Association

When I became President of the GA, one of my legacy projects was a blog about each of the people who had been GA President. This took me into the history of the GA, but also uncovered lots of connections with the RGS ove the years. 

One of the links between the two is through people who were involved with the British Association, and particularly the Section which included geographical work.

I came across details of an 1896 meeting of the British Association.

Some familiar names were included in this meeting.

Major Darwin, Honorary Secretary of the Royal Geographical Society was present as was Hugh Robert Mill.

A meeting in Liverpool is described here. It is a period of profound activity.
